B. Why It’s Used
Audit of Lessons 17.1–17.2 against Annexure-II showed strong Telangana and polity coverage, but thin treatment of current affairs method, IR institutions, Modern India / National Movement, pan-India geography, and social exclusion / rights. Paper I still awards 1 mark per question — these clusters are high-yield recognition items, not deep essays.

Current affairs for TGPSC is a revision system, not a newspaper habit. In the last 6–8 weeks before the exam, maintain a one-page weekly log under five buckets: (a) Telangana — schemes, GO numbers, district changes, HMDA/GHMC news; (b) India polity — bills, SC judgments of national note, Election Commission / CAG / RBI headlines; (c) Economy — Budget themes, inflation/repo moves, major infra launches; (d) Science / environment / disaster — ISRO missions, COP outcomes, major floods/cyclones affecting India; (e) International — India’s bilateral visits, G20/BRICS/SCO, UN agency headlines. Source stack: one national daily (skim), PIB releases for scheme names, and the tgpsc.gov.in / state portal for Telangana. Stop collecting new stories 7 days before the exam; switch to revising the log only.

International Relations questions usually test institution recognition, not diplomacy theory. Know: UN (HQ New York; GA, SC, ECOSOC, ICJ, Secretariat); UN specialised agencies — WHO (Geneva), UNESCO (Paris), UNICEF (New York), ILO (Geneva), FAO (Rome), IMF & World Bank Group (Washington — Bretton Woods, 1944); WTO (Geneva); regional — SAARC (Kathmandu), ASEAN (Jakarta), SCO, BRICS, G20, BIMSTEC. India’s permanent / non-permanent SC campaigns and “Neighbourhood First” / Act East / Indo-Pacific are enough for MCQ flavour. For planners: note UN-Habitat (Nairobi) and SDGs (Agenda 2030) as the urban–IR bridge.
